WHAT IS THE SINGERSWEATSHOP?

The SingerSweatShop is a new cultural hotspot in the centre of Rotterdam (NL) where young artists from various fields have their studios and organize exhibitions, events, workshops, parties, high teas, filmnights, and promote gezelligheid of the highest level!

Situated in the old Singer building, the first building to be erect on the Hoogstraat after the German bombardment in 1940, it lays in the middle of the centre of Rotterdam, close to the Willem de Koning Art Academy and many of the city´s famous architectual structures such as the Cube Houses and Willems Bridge.

The Singer building was the first on the Hoogstraat after WWII.

Since the start of the SingerSweatShop as a breeding ground and exhibition space for young artists in august 2007 things have progressed quickly, and with the addition of some extra enthousiasts early 2008 we hope to attract even more people in our second season!

So stop by and visit an exhibition or one of the many other events we organize and offer our space to. You can also check out our online AGENDA to see what’s coming up or what you’ve missed, and the PICTURES page to see some of the stuff we’ve done so far.

We offer a podium to young artists to show their work. If you are looking to show your work to more people, drop us a line.

Thanks for stopping by,

The SingerSweatShop
